As a general rule, a sheep or goat is enough for a single individual victim, while a cow or camel can be used to be the victim of seven persons account. A part of the person, the victim, one for friends and family, and one for the poor: the meat of the Qurbani is often evenly divided into three groups. This symbolizes our willingness toPart with things that are precious to us, but also exchange with the people around us and those who are in need.
While it is often suggested that every Muslim must make the killing with his own hands, this is not always possible in many Western countries because of health and safety regulations. Therefore, it is permissible for a victim to be carried out on behalf of someone else and then distributed the meat to the poor, until they cover the cost ofAnimals and distribution. One of the key requirements of the massacre is the name of Allah, before pronouncing their lives. Saying: "Allah hu Akbar" in Arabic, means "God is great", we are reminded that life is sacred.
