Iraq War - Its Impact on Muslims

Muslims and Christians have a history of conflict. During last few decades when USA was sought by the nations of Middle East it was thought that the conflicts will reduce. But USA's total support for Israel has made US a suspect in the eyes of Muslims around the world. What impact has the Iraq war had on Muslims around the world?

The war on Iraq was started with the stated purpose of finding WMDs. It ended with death of Saddam Hussein. After that the USA decided to have democracy in Iraq. But did not know how to do this. Can one export democracy? USA tried that. It is still trying that. But it is only resulting in war between Shias and Sunnis. As a result both Shias and Sunnis around the world are blaming the USA for deaths of Muslims. USA is getting known as an enemy of Muslims for no good reason.

Muslims World

Muslims all around the world have loyalties that cross the nation boundaries. Muslims empathize with each other. They call for Jihad and are ready to kill those they believe are destroying Islam. Why educated Muslims should confuse about the west is always an enigma for me. What they want from west is unknown to me. If you ask Muslims about what exactly they want from others, you may get confused answers. The right path should be to live peacefully with others. But because some of them believe that west wants to destroy Islam they are waging war.

Iraq War - Its Impact on Muslims

The correct idea should be for the USA to make a council of Muslim nations and ask them to solve the whole problem in Iraq. But that is easier said then done. The common Muslim thinks differently than the rulers. The rulers around Islamic countries also do not want to dabble in Iraq. Whether the new president can create peace in Iraq will be worth watching. It looks difficult.

Eid-Ul-Fitr in the True Islamic Spirit

Eid-Ul-Fitr in the True Islamic Spirit

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of month of Ramdhan. It signifies the end of the month fasting (the first day of the month of shawal) each Muslim derives the meaning holy benefits of Eid benefits of Ramadhan and their own personal spirit to some its like a steep upward stop culminating in the peek with magnificent landscape. To some it is like an opportunity to unwind after a hectic labor of one month.

Contrary to that some actually feel a true spiritual uplift of an untold value. This actually is the true spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr that has been defined by Holy Prophet (PBUH). Its significance is purely spiritual. It is the day when Muslim thank God for having there will, the strength and the endurance to observe fasting to obey his commandment.

The Muslim

The festival began with the first-sighting of the new moon. This day in the Muslim word, is the day of rejoicing and happiness it's also a day of forgiveness and making resolutions. The rejoicing however is not at the departure of Ramadhan. It is the happiness which man feels after successfully completing an important task.

The feast of fast breaking Eid-ul Fitr is God's reward for those who fast during the holy month the prayers of the Eid are a reason of unity and solidarity of Muslims all over the world. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) and all the Imams celebrated Eid and encouraged all Muslims to do it. They told Muslims to wear good clothes, put on perfume and go to mosque to recite Eid prayer. Hazoor (S.A.W.W) used to come out of his home on the day of Eid, reciting the Takbir to glorifying Allah in the loud voice. He advised us to exchange Eid greeting, visit each other, remember the poor by taking out Fitrana before the prayer, visit them at their homes and give them gift if possible.

The concept of the Eid in Islam is not however confined to celebration extravagance, luxurious feasts, friendly handshakes and embraces. The Muslims should rather devote this day to the worship of God and should pray before him to approve their vicious deeds and to forgive their sins. This is because the doors of His pardon are kept open this day and His blessings flow in abundance. On this day do honor God for his endless and all enhancing mercy.

Our holy prophet (Peace be upon him) has advised us to take special care of poor people on this day and include them in our celebration. But we remain busy in evaluating our near and dear ones but very rarely follow the advice of HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (PBUH). The poor are human being like us and they also have their wishes. We should give them due importance on this day at least.

Another day of celebration for muslims is eid ul azha commonly known as "Bari Eid" it is a celebrated in memory of sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim of their beloved son Hazrat Ismail as ordered by Allah almighty. This day teaches us to sacrifice anything in the way of Allah just to oblige him. We sacrifice animals like goat, sheep, camels etc. as to refresh the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim. On this day also, we should remember poor and distribute meat to them.

To conclude, we may say that eid is purely a day of celebration. But it also teaches us so many lessons of tolerance, patience, and loving people below our rank. In short, Allah has given us the day to celebrate but only celebration will be completed if we will add all people around us in it.

Jilbabs - The Contemporary Attire for Muslim Women

Jilbabs are among the most famous clothing items for the Muslim women of today. Jilbabs can be defined as long and loose garments that cover the entire body from tip to toe. Islamic tradition demands that women should be concealed when they come out in public. Although a lot of women don't follow these rules, some have still retained the age-old values of the religion of Islam.

Jilbab can be easily worn over everyday clothing. The basic idea behind this is to keep the whole body covered when women are out in a public place. Times have changed, so have the tastes of women all over the world. That is why jilbabs are now being designed along contemporary and elegant lines so that they look stylish and achieve their purpose too.

The Muslim

Jilbabs were originally manufactured in black but now they are sold in colors such as blue, lavender, mauve, plum, light grey, and chocolate. Laces and sequins are also used to give it a more modern look. Jilbabs can be sported at almost all occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, and even to work. Beaded clothing also works quite well.

Jilbabs - The Contemporary Attire for Muslim Women

Jilbabs in earlier days were of a more conservative nature with mandarin type collars. But these days, Peter Pan collars and V necks are used to make the outfit look attractive. The garment is also provided with an A-line shape to give a slim look. Zipped pockets are another addition to the traditional jilbab. Swarovski stones on a jilbab will certainly make you stand out in a crowd. Gone are the days when these garments were considered to be plain and conservative; you can easily look hip and fashionable wearing it now.

The Expectations of a President - The Obama Phenomena

Is America expecting too much from President Elect Obama? After all he is only human and he is only the President, which is only the executive branch of our Federal Government, there are 2 other branches of government that keep everything in check, and another branch of government it seems also; the media. A president has to deal with many things.

Right now President Obama has not even taken office yet and already the Stock Market seems to be voting against this new President as the market crashed 900 points in 2-days after his election, signaling the honeymoon is over, actually it did not even last 24-hours. Additionally, President Elect Obama hired a man to be his chief of staff and some folks did not approve and they are already attacking him in the media for it.

Arab

Apparently, his choice for chief of staff is someone who has been known to send dead fish by mail to political opponents, something that is an intimidation tactic, but using the US Mail means it is a borderline felony. Obama cannot seem to get the media to give him any breaks since his election victory. Sure, some of the media is running a story on the "first dog" choices as his kids pick out a puppy, but that is as far as that goes.

The Expectations of a President - The Obama Phenomena

Nancy Pelosi stated in the newspaper: "This president goes into office with more expectations than any president I can ever remember in my lifetime." True enough, but at the same time she seems to be spending Obama's political capital by unilaterally meeting with Detroit and the UAW to cut a deal for a bailout package with taxpayer's monies. Although she claims to have everyone else's blessing in her party.

Arab

By the time President Obama is inaugurated the Democrats will have added another trillion dollars to the national debt. Thus, there will not be any more money left for an Obama Administration to do all the things he promised everyone during the election. Are we putting too much expectation on this young President and setting him up for failure? Do the Democrats just want to make sure they can control him once in office? If so, is this really change we can believe in?

The 1973 Arab Oil Embargo Aftermath

The 1973 Arab Oil Embargo Aftermath

Before the 1973 Arab oil embargo gasoline could be found for 30 cents per gallon, and the cost per barrel of crude domestic oil was about .00 per barrel. The Arab oil embargo caused prices to rise and we all know about the huge profits that were made by each and every oil company world wide.

Our almost-did-nothing Politicians at that time passed a windfall profit tax because oil company profits increased about 300%. Those oil people were still pumping .00 per barrel oil and they weren't about to reduce retail prices because O.P.E.C. fixed the price for their oil to, for starters, .00 per barrel. Then again, our oil people loved those Arabs and made many of them filthy rich many years before O.P.E.C. was created. Was that just a cleaver plot between them and our oil people? Yep! That's what it was.

Arab

The windfall profit tax was a big problem for our oil people because they were now paying hundreds of millions of dollars more to the IRS. Because of that, gas prices weren't going down to pre 1973 levels. Also, they would have to defeat the tax if they expected to maintain those huge profits year after year. Well, they just bought more Arab oil to increase their average per barrel cost and pay far less to the IRS.

What you don't know is that they also closed their .00 per barrel wells and used some of their huge profits in which to drill new wells to tap the same oil source that those old wells sucked from below the Earth. So now, the same oil suddenly cost .00 or more per barrel. The windfall profit tax became nothing more than joke that was repealed. What about fair competition and those other laws that prevent price gouging or extortion?

In times of a National Emergency, who cares? We People need gas in order to go to work and buy food. That's true enough, and those high gas prices were the start of 1,000% inflation. I wonder what will happen this time? Naturally, you can expect the same thing to happen.

During and after the crisis our oil people were doing their best to keep prices from going higher and they had one way to end shortages by simply trading millions of gallons of fuel between themselves.
X company would ship fuel to Y company to prevent a shortage in Illinois, and Y company would ship an equal amount to X company to cover a shortage in California. Is that fair competition when they all do business in all of the States? No.

It's entirely possible that the same oil source became the refined product within the tanks of every fuel station in an entire State. Is that in compliance with our anti-trust laws? No. Then again, that's what they call serving their customers.

Believe it or not, that's just one of the things that our multinational corporations did and continue to do as part of their desire to create a, "New World Order," and take for themselves the wealth of the entire Earth.

Reasons Why Mexicans Immigrated to the United States

America is a country that was established by all the immigrants that came to settle there. The original settlers in America are the Indian-Americans who have been living there for thousands of years already, even before Christopher Columbus discovered it. Many people wonder the answer to the question why Mexican immigrants came to America.

1. The first answer to the query, why immigrants came to America is because most of them came to be saved from getting persecuted from a religious sect. The Irish immigrants were just like some of the Mexican immigrants who came because they were afraid of getting persecuted by the England church.

Arab

2. The second answer to the query, why Mexican immigrants came to America is to escape famine from Mexico. A big famine happened in the eighteenth century.

3. The third answer to the query, why Mexican immigrants came to America is to find good opportunities for a job. Many workers were needed when America was starting because many infrastructures were needed to be built. Many of them became farmers and carpenters. Some of them also sent money back to their families who still remained in Mexico. This is still a situation that is happening even today.

Arab

4. The fourth answer to the query, why Mexican immigrants came to America is because they wanted to seek adventure. Many people from other countries including Mexico have heard of the new found land and they wanted to see it for adventure. Many of them liked what they saw in America and decided to settle there permanently.

5. The fifth answer to the query, why Mexican immigrants came to America is for them to be able to escape the hardships in Mexico. They also came to reunite with some relatives who are already living in the United States. Many Mexicans settled in Texas, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico.

Texas was once a territory of Mexico. Then General Antonio Lopez and his forces were defeated in a war in San Jacinto. Then Texas became one of the states of America and because of this the Mexicans and Americans battled over it. Then Americans defeated the Mexicans and settled in Mexico city for a while. The Mexicans then decided to enter a treaty with the United States so they can gain back sovereignty in Mexico and consequently they lost five hundred square miles to America. That territory had many Mexicans who chose to become American citizens. These days many immigrants from Mexico still come to work for higher wages. Most of them work in factories and construction.
